How a day becomes a painting
Mathematics, then magic.
Everything below is one real run, start to finish, with nothing tidied up. Astro-Arc was born at its first commit: 4:00 PM, September 6, 2026, in Bozeman, Montana. So it has a birth chart like anyone else. This is its day on .
-
01
Where everything was at birth
Ten bodies and twelve houses, computed on your own machine to within about an arcminute. That's a thirtieth of the Moon's width.
Body Longitude Sign House -
02
Where the Moon is now
The daily painting follows the Moon, the fastest thing in the sky. It covers about 13° a day, so no two days start from the same place. Right now it's at , in , house .
-
03
The geometry
Measure the angle from today's Moon to every birth planet. Anything near 0°, 60°, 90°, 120° or 180° counts as an aspect. The leftover is the orb, and a smaller orb means a louder aspect. This table is computed live in your browser, from the longitudes above. Three of the ten birth planets are in range today.
Moon to Angle Nearest Orb Allowed Closeness -
04
Four numbers
The whole day gets boiled down to four measurements. These four decide more about the painting than anything else.
-
05
What the numbers decide
The day sets the painting's shape before anything is drawn: how crowded it is, how close, how dark. A loaded, hard day gets a packed frame up close. A quiet one gets room to breathe.
-
06
Then it rolls the dice
The world draws from its own lists for what's happening, what people are doing, and how the scene shows depth. Anything it used in its last few runs is off the table.
-
07
The myth
A language model reads all of it as a short psychological reading, then finds the old story the day rhymes with. It's banned from visual words at this stage, so "Mars square Moon" can't lazily become a red sword.
-
08
The day, in one line
-
09
The picture, in words
Only now does anything visual get written: the myth, built out of the day's materials, in the chosen world's terms.
-
10
The painting
The image gets painted, and your theme takes its colors from it.
Infinite worlds
How many styles are there?
Seven come in the box. That's just the warm-up.
Every painting above is a different style, and every style started as one sentence. Describe a world, and your coding agent writes the whole thing with you: its era, its materials, its myths, what's strange there, and how it goes dark on a bad day. Then it's in your list, painting your days like any other.
- Marbled paper
- Microscope slides
- 1960s concert posters
- Needle-felt woodland
- Gold-leaf screens
- Whatever you're into
- Pick “+ Create a new style…”It's the last entry in the style list.
- Describe it in a line“1920s travel posters.” “Embroidered folk tales.” “My D&D campaign.”
- Your agent builds it with youClaude Code, Codex, Gemini or Grok. It checks with you before every step, and tells you the price before spending a cent.
The seven that ship with it
It moves
And it breathes, a little.
Turn on Moving background and a small depth model works out what's near and what's far in each painting, right on your CPU. Near things then drift slowly against far ones. It holds still on battery, when you're idle, and behind full-screen windows.

It's in Omarchy's plugin marketplace too. You bring an OpenAI or OpenRouter key and pay only for what you generate, about 1–3¢ a painting. Nothing runs until you ask it to.
